How we Teach

InterHigh offers a complete secondary education online

The Classroom

The Teacher leads the class

Teacher

After greeting pupils, the teachers can deliver a prepared presentation, set worked examples, utilise the ‘follow-me’ browser facility to access online resources and arrange for pupils to work in pairs or groups.  They can constantly monitor pupils’ interaction and respond to general questions or privately to individual queries. The absence of distractions or disruptions enables teachers to devote themselves entirely to teaching and learning.

Pupils and teacher interact via the computer, with the screen acting as an interactive whiteboard.

Pupils can communicate with teachers and other pupils through voice, text and interactive presentation.  Individual pupils can volunteer to work through specific examples, share their work or lead the class.  Giving every pupil the opportunity to directly and privately message the teacher means that no question is ever left unspoken or unanswered.

A cloud based school where pupils can access the library all day, everyday

Classroom

The lesson library provides access to the entire curriculum; this is available to access at anytime from anywhere.  Once a lesson has been delivered pupils can review the teacher recording. The search facility can help pupils track down exactly what they need.  It is a fantastic resource to support pupils to consolidate their learning, master tricky concepts and prepare for examinations.

Students

Pupils have their own personal school control panel from which to access every part of the school; classes, the library, clubs, societies, the common room, social media area, timetable, homework monitor or the school reward shop. Their personal feedback panel keeps them constantly up to date with upcoming assignment deadlines, homework feedback and overall performance. Parents too can keep up to date with their son’s or daughter’s progress and contact staff at any time.
