| The Common Room |
|
On Friday afternoons the Common Room is open
to the whole school.
Many
extra-curricular activities take place including guest speakers; rehearsals and
public performances; parties; demonstrations;
competitions; games; hobbies;
fundraising; careers advice
and much more.
Homework Club, The Common Room and timetabled extra curricular activities are always optional.
Below is a typical type of timetable structure.

A number of guest speakers have been invited to the Common Room and have given very entertaining and informative presentations. Authors and Playwrights, Vets and Airline pilots, Gardeners and Graphic Designers are just some of the professionals who have all given us memorable talks in the Interhigh Common Room.

Interhigh Students have exhibited their own artwork in the Common Room , and provided open discussion of their own techniques and inspirations, as well as a general forum for critique of art and design in the commercial world.

 |
Very popular Drama sessions have also been held in the Common Room. It has been used for rehearsing for school play performances at the end of term, where friends and family can also be invited to log on and watch the final performance.

Interhigh Film Society was also formed to discuss and assess a specific collection of films on Youtube. Films were then given ratings by students.
|
 |
The Interhigh Christmas Party was a great Common Room event. Virtual food, drink, games, competitions, real prizes, a Christmas quiz and great music all added to the festive occasion. In true tradition at the end of the party Father Christmas even appeared with his sleigh full of presents! |
